Wow...racism will never go away in a culturally diverse nation. Its funny how many blacks and Latinos overcrowd the prison system and claim they are behind bars because of the racist white legal system.

I'm sure there are isolated incidents. But who do you mostly see robbing liquor stores, selling drugs, doing drive-bys and harassing people on the streets and in schools? This isn't all blacks and latinos but there are stereotypes for a reason. This is upsetting for me because I am Latino as well. I feel there is much more hate towards whites than the other way around. I've been on both ends; being looked down on by preppy white school kids and jumped by Blacks and Mexicans who thought I was a "cracker white boy". But while most whites I run in to never mention race, most blacks and latinos are almost too proud to NOT be white. It even seems "uncool" to be white. This probably enables them to pick on whites without guilt or any repremand from friends/family.

Poverty is no excuse. I grew up in a poor white neighborhood and have never seen as much violence. We were poor, uneducated, and with a missing father. My mother worked her way through night school to a decent 90K/year career and I am an Engineering student. None of us are any smarter than anyone else. More depends on your upbringing, using common sense and even more on your determination to be something better. It has less to do with money and intelligence. I know I'm no genius.
